    • c) Dasho Dungkar Gyeltsen (s/o Sonam Pedzom). Tongsa Ponlop 1866-1882 and Shemgang Dzongpon. He had issue, a son:
      • i) Dasho Kunzang Trinley. Thimphu Dzongpon 1886 and Wangdu Phodrang Dzongpon. He had issue, one son and one daughter:

        • (1) Ashi Lhamo Kurto Khoma Chukmo. m. as his fourth wife, 1901, H.H. Maharaja Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Sir Ugyen Wangchuk, Maharaja of Bhutan, GCIE, KCSI (b. 1861; d. at Bumthang, 26th August 1926), younger son of H.H. Dasho Samdrup Jigme Namgyal, 51st Druk Desi of Bhutan, by his wife, Ashi Pema Chokyi, daughter of Dasho Ugyen Puntso Tamshing, Choji of Bumthang. She d. April 1922, having had issue - see below.
    • d) H.H. Dasho Samdrup Jigme Namgyal. b. at Kurtyo under Lhuntsi, 1825 (s/o Sonam Pedzom), educ. privately. 10th Tongsa Penlop and 51st Druk Desi (Deb Raja) of Bhutan 1870-1873. m. Ashi Pema Chokyi (d. 1884), daughter of Dasho Ugyen Puntso Tamshing, Choji of Bumthang, by his wife, Ashi Rinchen Pemo, daughter of Dasho Sonam Drugyel, 30th Druk Desi (Deb Raja) of Bhutan. He d. from a fall from a yak at Simtokha Dzong in the Thimphu Valley, 1881, having had issue, two sons and one daughter:
      • i) Dasho Tinley Topgye. b. 1856. Wangdo Phodrang Dzogpon 1877-1883, Paro Ponlop 1883-1884. He d. from a fall from a horse at Paro bridge, 1884, having had issue, a son:
        • (1) Dasho Namgyal.
      • ii) Dasho Ugyen Wangchuk, 12th Tongsa Penlop, who became H.H. Maharaja Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Sir Ugyen Wangchuk, Maharaja of Bhutan - see below.
      • i) Ashi Yeshi Choden. m. her maternal first cousin, Chimi Dorji, Byagar Dzongpon later Thimphu Dzongpon, son of Pema Tenzing, 11th Tongsa Penlop 1882. She had issue, two sons and three daughters.

      • i) Raja Ugyen Dorji. Governor of Ha, Gongzim and Chief Minister 1907-1917. Granted the personal titles of Rai Bahadur (cre. 1905) and Raja (cre. 1907). m. and had issue:
        • (1) Raja Sonam Tobgay Dorji, CIE (8.6.1944). b. 1896. Gongzim and Chief Minister 1917-1952, Agent for Foreign Relations for the King of Bhutan, Royal Chamberlain and Governor of Ha. Granted the personal titles of Rai Bahadur (cre. 1917) and Raja. Rcvd: Silver Jubilee (1935) and Coron. (1937) medals. m. at Kalimpong, 5th April 1918, Rani Chuni Wangmo La (b. 1897; d. 1994), second daughter of second daughter of H.H. Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Maharaja Sir Thutob Namgyal [mThu-stobs rNam-rgyal], Maharaja of Sikkim, KCIE, by his third wife, H.H. Rani Yishi Dolma, of Lhasa in Tibet. He d. at the Gantey Palace, September 1953, having had issue, four sons and one daughter:

Tsering Yangyzam (alias Tessla) (b. in Tibet, 1924, m. second, ...), daughter of General H.E. Chensel Namgyal, Dzasa Dasang Dadul, Tsarong Shappe, C-in-C Tibetan Military Forces, by his wife, Tsetan Dolkar, daughter of Wangchuk Gyelpo, Tsarong Shappe. He was k. at Phuntsoling Guesthouse, 5th April 1964, having had issue, three sons and one daughter:
            • (i) Dasho Paljor Jigme Dorji, educ. St Joseph's Coll., Northpoint, Darjeeling. Dep. Minister for the Environment 1994-1998. m. Louise, née Bird, an Englishwoman. He has issue, two sons and one daughter, including:

Acting Prime Minister of Bhutan 1964-1965, exiled to Nepal 1965 and later settled at Kalimpong, Darjeeling, India. m. Glenda, née Wilkie, a lady of Anglo-Burmese descent. He has issue, three children, including:
            • (i) Ashi Khendum Dorji, educ. at Katmandu, Nepal and Thimphu. Political Adviser in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Conference Dvsn.). m. (div.) and has issue, a daughter.
          • (a) Ashi Kesang-la Choden Dorji [H.M. Queen Kesang Choden]. b. 21st May 1930. m. at Paro Dzong, 5th October 1951, H.M. Druk Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, King of Bhutan. b. at Thuepang Palace, Tongsa, 2nd May 1929; d. at Nairobi, Kenya, 15th July 1972), eldest son of H.H. Maharaja Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Sir Jigme Wangchuk, Maharaja of Bhutan, KCIE, by his first wife, H.M. Queen Phuntsho Choden, elder daughter of Dasho Jamyang, Chume Shengo. She had issue one son and two daughters -
